February 10, 2013In case you're wondering the District has recently initiated the construction of a pedestrian bridge which will connect the District's jogging trial in Rattan Creek with sidewalks on Dallas Drive near the intersection with Dringenberg Drive. This bridge will span approximately 110' across Rattan Creek and will be constructed as a six-foot wide steel structure. With the completion of this project the Rattan Creek jogging trail will be accessible to those living in the southwestern portion of the District. This project was made possible through a grant through the Commissioner Lisa Berkman's office (Williamson County Pct. 1) with funding originating from Capital Metro. The project is being constructed by T BAR M Land Services, LLC. This work will include the planting of numerous additional trees just west of the Tamayo Drive bridge within the Rattan Creek drainage area as mitigation for disturbance within the drainageway. This project will should be competed within approximately four months just in time the District's residents to get their summer bodies in shape. Progress updates on this roject will be maintained on the District's website.
