At its June 16th Board meeting, the North Austin MUD No. 1 Board of Directors approved a phase 2 of the pilot sidewalk repair project with Concrete Raising Company of Austin (CRC) to repair portions of the sidewalks along both sides of Tamayo Drive from Parmer Lane to the intersection of Dallas Drive. The phase 2 survey identified 185 locations that will be leveled along portions of the sidewalk to address trip hazards. This is the second phase of a program initiated by the District.
CRC Geotech uses a cement slurry or level concrete sidewalks, repel water and fill the voids beneath them. This process of raising concrete results in a repair which, when cured, is impervious to water. It is also environmentally friendly. There will be no other repairs made to the sidewalks.
Work will begin the week of July 12th (weather permitting). Residents can expect 30-45 minutes at each location to core and raise the sidewalk slabs.
